Deliver critical healthcare to remote communities
Every two minutes, someone needs the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Compassionate people like you can help us provide care to outback communities. Are you ready to save lives?
The Royal Flying Doctor Service travels far and wide to offer 24/7 aeromedical retrieval. With you by our side, we will go even further in creating better health outcomes for all Australians.
In addition, the Flying Doctor delivers extensive primary healthcare services, including dental, mental health and healthcare education.
The Impact You’ll Make
You’ll help us be a mate to graziers doing it tough, and provide dental care for people, who without the RFDS, would have no other option.
You’ll be part of a team that will ensure children battling cancer get to the best hospitals in the country, and together we will put patients’ minds at ease with the knowledge that our nurses and doctors are on their way to care for them and take them to safety.

Get to know the RFDS
Queenslanders have trusted the RFDS for over 95 years to deliver emergency aeromedical retrieval, essential primary and preventative healthcare to remote, rural and regional areas.
The RFDS is a national, charitable, health organisation delivering primary healthcare and 24-hour emergency services for those that live in rural and remote Australia.
Servicing the outback communities in Australia for over 95 years, the RFDS delivers healthcare where mainstream health services are not available, using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology and a broad-reaching ground-service fleet.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) was established in 1928 by the Reverend John Flynn, with the intent of providing a “mantle of safety” for the people in the bush.
In the 95 years since its beginnings, the RFDS has evolved into a 24-hour, 7 days a week health service to enable people in rural and remote Australia, and who are beyond regular medical infrastructure, to access medical care in metropolitan-based tertiary hospitals.
Because of John Flynn’s vision and passion for innovation, we have seen the hospital emergency room, dentist’s chair and pharmacy become available to those living in the outback. And it’s because of the people of Australia that the service remains free and accessible to anyone who needs us.

Because you care, we can save lives in rural and remote areas.
You’re helping to transform our aircraft into intensive care units in the sky, fully equipped to transfer even the most critically ill patients to life-saving care.
By caring so much about people in the outback, you’re helping to deliver fly-in, fly-out primary health care clinics and mental health support in rural communities. You’re helping to purchase vital life-saving equipment like ventilators, defibrillators and infusion pumps which are used onboard every day.
Not only that, but you’ll be the reason we can transport people to urgent hospital care – babies fighting for their lives, young station hands dealing with horrific machinery accidents or grandparents suffering from acute heart failure.
Without compassionate people like you, where would we be?
