We know Australia is a big country, but do you know exacly how big? At 7.69 million square kilometres, it’s the sixth largest country in the world! From east to west, it’s close to 4,000 kilometres wide.

It’s no wonder then, that our RFDS fleet flies around 28 million kilometres a year as it brings medical care to every corner of our vast country.

Distance can create a host of challenges for Aussies living, working or travelling a long way from our cities, especially when they need access to health services. That’s why it’s so important that no matter where they are, Aussies can count on the Flying Doctor.
